Dangerous Goods Transport Training (DGR)

Training in the transport of dangerous goods has evolved from traditional teaching methods to a competency-based training and assessment approach (CBTA), in line with the guidelines established by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The 64th edition of the Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) issued by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) includes guidelines for competency-based training, in accordance with the ICAO Dangerous Goods Panel (DGP/27) and the functions specified in the Guidelines of the President of the Civil Aviation Authority regarding training in the air transport of dangerous goods.

Under the new CBTA framework, Avsec Cargo instructors approved by the Civil Aviation Authority, who conduct dangerous goods training, have developed a range of general and specialized competency-based training programs focused on the safe air transport of dangerous goods. Notably, Avsec Cargo is the only entity offering an e-learning DGR course specifically for security screening operators (SSOs), i.e., Function 10 – Personnel responsible for screening passengers and crew members, and their baggage or cargo.

The DGR e-learning courses by Avsec Cargo, available through the Avsec Control training platform, offer numerous advantages, making them attractive for both companies and individuals. E-learning is an excellent solution for airport environments, where work demands specialized knowledge and flexible scheduling.

One of the greatest benefits of e-learning is the ability to study anytime and anywhere. For security screening operators who work in shifts, access to Avsec Cargo’s online training allows them to study at a convenient time without interfering with their job responsibilities. All that is needed is an internet connection to access our courses from any location.

Moreover, online training eliminates the need for travel, saving both time and expenses related to transportation and accommodation. At airports, where employees may come from various regions, Avsec Cargo’s e-learning provides a convenient and uniform educational solution without the need for costly on-site training.

Avsec Cargo’s e-learning allows the educational process to be tailored to individual needs. Security screening operators can learn at their own pace, revisit complex topics such as hazardous materials classification, identification of prohibited dangerous goods, or incident response. With Avsec Cargo’s DGR training, learning becomes more effective and aligned with real-world job challenges.

Upon successful completion of the training, participants receive a certificate in accordance with the Guidelines of the President of the Civil Aviation Authority for competency-based training in the air transport of dangerous goods.
